I just arrived at the local coffeehouse after a brief walk through my neighborhood taking pictures of our rooted brothers and sisters. I am not (at least not yet) very sensitive to energy flows but I feel the vitality of spring all around us keenly.
Oh how wonderful! I love the feeling of spring's vitality too! Energy is why I love your heart. I can feel its lovingness from my coffee shop to yours! I hope you get to keep that big heart without the side-effects of the ultra sensitivity I experience!
I was just thinking before reading your article how much I would like to get rid of our small car. It is not only an expense and uses fossil fuels, but a car also makes you less of an observer of your surroundings. Moreover, when you go inside a car, you walk less.
Between 1994 and 2001, I had no car. I took public transport and I walked and biked. When I walked, which was every day, I was able to observe everything around me. I would walk to the cafe most days, a place to work and sometimes meet up with friends. It was 30 minutes each way, but I loved it, because I was walking, thinking and observing. No traffic; no stress from driving.
We've been a one car family for a long time. I'm not into judging people about what they drive or anything about personal liberties because I see the main consumers of fuel as military.
Perry, Steven who commented above ran for office on a Bernie Sanders platform. I no longer share his politics but you will not find a better man who is also brilliant. His book on how the US debated in the congress over whether or not the state of Georgia had the right to commit genocide against Indigenous Nations is well-written and from the heart of gold Steven has...you two would like each other. Peace
"US debated in the congress over whether or not the state of Georgia had the right to commit genocide against Indigenous Nations."
I have read all the American history I wanted to; one of the best books that I read was a comprehensive sweeping history, "A People's History of the United States," by Howard Zinn, originally published in 1980. Prof. Zinn opened my eyes to the wholesale slaughter of the Indigenous population and to the introduction of smallpox to these communities.
All for land. All part of Manifest Destiny and American Exceptionalism. This thinking still exists today, certainly among some Christian circles.
Thanks for the referral of Steven; If he supported Bernie, then I am sure he is a decent human being. Yes, Peace!
My son has a People's History by Howard Zinn as part of his education. Here's to meetings of the heart and in nature beyond all forms of harm! Yes peace.
Am very empathic so i can relate. It's taken decades of learn from experience to make myself less susceptible by maintaining my energy/being myself and more quickly recognizing others' energies, as e.g. i could go somewhere or meet someone, then come home feeling like 'who am i?.. this is not me'... b/c i picked up on what someone else was feeling or going through.
Thank you! Those energies find me when I’m present not so much if I’m not. The strengths and weaknesses certainly blend in. It’s hard to name them. I’m not sure if they’re truly different. Leaning into the present and letting go of what doesn’t serve me. Acknowledging it. Thanking it. Letting it pass through and around me. My heart seems to know where to go. I just follow it. Maybe a strength? Maybe a weakness? Maybe just being. Bless you 🙏❤️

Congrats!
and an ongoing, fine tuning process...
It always is - peace
