Do you walk around every moment of every day thinking, feeling, knowing and vibrating with the TRUTH, “I influence life with every breath and choice. I create ripples that profoundly impact many, many lives, across multiple timelines and realities”?
If not, your thinking/feeling/sense of how you matter - you, precious soul having a human experience that makes an impact - is not big enough!
Les you feel pressure realizing how much impact your presence can have, let me remind you that often our darkest moments are preparing us for our greatest light. There is much darkness in the universe, and only people who, having traversed it, lived it, and emerged into the authentic light of Source will have the wisdom and compassion to lead others out of it.
If you have, on the other hand felt invisible and powerless, let me say sing it from my living room while dancing:
You matter
You matter
So let your light SHINE
Brighter
And Brighter
The water
The fire
The ether
Be the blessing
So the blessings
Can flow
So they matter
On this earth
So we can all feel the love
Of the Mater
Oh You MAAAAA-TER
Your little ways of being you can unchoke what has been choked
Unlock hearts that need to be stoked
Your actions make a difference
They can break up the indifference
And invite us to love each other beyond difference
And you don’t have to wait til your life is perfect or you’ve arrived at some mythical destination of having things all set before you can act on the pure, beautiful soul that you are in truth, whatever messes you’ve got going in your day to day life.
After I left ecstatic dance because they weren’t holding abusive men accountable, I started dancing outdoors. When I couldn’t use my voice to speak my truths in my community because of censorship and judgment, I began singing. When I couldn’t go into coffeeshops because of discriminatory practices, I began dancing down the sidewalk. When I got sexually harassed online, I became afraid and contracted. I stopped dancing. I started dancing again because a woman in her 80s told me she missed it.
Once, on a day I didn’t want to be on earth, my favorite barista gave me a lavender latte on the house. On another tough day, my old teenage neighbor gave me a candle she had made for me. Earlier I had given her tea as a welcome gift when they moved in, and a little note with a soup packet.
At least 5 adults have told me that they love and appreciate the chalk I do on the sidewalk. Today an older fellow told me looks forward to walking by the stretch where I chalk just because of it!
People I haven’t seen in a long time tell me or my husband about the impact something I said or did or the energy they felt with me had on them. They say things like they woke up thinking about me (my favorite farmer) or that thing I said helped them in their therapy practice to support their clients (my old neighbor,) or they now drink hops tea because I gifted the some once (a woman down the street.) This is and many other similar things.
As you know if you’ve read my post on how to handle being estranged from people you love at the holidays, I don’t have a perfect life and as a human, I am like all of us, messy, imperfect and full of what look like failures to the world or to the more self-critical parts of my own self. If I can do it, so can you. Listen for the nudge. It may be offering a hug. It may be straightening out someone’s crown and reminding them how worthy and beautiful they are even if others or a certain person isn’t treating them well. It may be trusting your inner guidance to start that school, build that bridge, sow flowers in along that path or give a gift to the people fighting for the Indigenous at Thacker Pass, as I linked to in my Thanksgiving post titled “GLAD.”
Or it might be taking good care of yourself and starting to bless the water you drink, or to bless the land and waters where you meditate and send love to the sky, the clouds and all life quietly in your own way in solitude. All of it makes a difference.
You make a difference. Think of all the people who have ever told you that you did, then imagine all the people who have been impacted by you and never told you!
Imagine all the people touched by every person you touch. The smile that helps another be kinder. The door held that gives people a sense that the world still have decent humans in it. The generosity that instigates someone else to give in a way that makes a difference for still more sentient beings.
May all beings be happy, peaceful and free. May all beings have hearts full of love. May all beings have an abundance of everything they need to thrive. May all beings be seen, appreciated and loved. May all beings know bliss and wellbeing. All beings awaken with as much grace and ease as possible in perfect ways and times for all creation to express divinity joyously and fully!
You are holy. You are sacred. You are worthy. You are divinity walking around in a. bag made of water and stardust and the Love of Source echoing in the halls of your cells, your soul sovereign DNA, saying, “C’mon soul, it’s time to shine.”
One last little story:
One day last week just after I had been led to become a paid subscriber for someone here on substack, I got the odd intuitive knock knock on my inner guidance to send my husband on a coffee errand rather early. Well a man paid for my coffee and told my husband to get something for himself too - even offered to buy us pastries, which my hubby graciously chose to forgo. Just as he arrived coffees-on-the-universe in hand, I got a note from that person whose paid subscriber I became saying I had been an answer to prayer.
Be the prayer and the prayer answered, for you are life’s wish dancing waves into form.
You make a difference. You are loved.
Love, Hugs,
Alicia
