Hi Alicia. Totally fascinating story. Here's a twist. My mom, whose name was Beryl, preferred to be called Alicia when engaging with Hispanic people. Also, one of my good friends going waay back to High School in LA is a Mermelstein. Curious and positive associations for me, btw. Do you have relatives in LA?

It is a small world, smaller and bigger everyday, isn't? That's so cool about your mom and about your friend! I don't know of any relatives in LA but that doesn't mean we aren't related. The story always went that everyone died/was killed in Ukraine/Poland except the tiny branch that made it here, but then later one more relative was found, I believe. It would not surprise me at all if your friend and I were related :) In the end, aren't we all? Thanks for sharing! I love that story! It's funny, I don't have any Spanish or Hispanic heritage this lifetime, but just as I preferred the Turkish/Arabic accent for my original name, I prefer the Spanish/Hispanic one for Alicia. When I took my son to Peru a few years back, I passed for local with both a couple of locals and a couple of foreigners. Partly because I resonate the energy of cultures I have a connection with easily and as a result, I tend absorb the accent quickly...even though my Spanish was actually really terrible by all objective standards. Kind of somewhat off topic, but related, my husband feels more Jewish on the inside even though I am the one with the Jewish blood this time; he is part Japanese but I have a connection with the more pristine aspects of Japanese energy more than he does...someone once channeled he was a Rabbi and I was a female Samarai.

Ah. Compelling. I'm Jewish in blood also, Minsk Russia bloodline on my mom's side from what I understand. And ?? regarding my Dad who I know little about (left us before or just after I was 1) -- and truthfully, Alicia, I know very very little about both sides as totally isolated and or estranged from all. Helloooo abandonment and attachment theory issues! 😉😱. Hey just DM me here or email me (elessing1 at gmail) if you ever wish to contact my friend, she's now here on the East Coast like me (we're both from LA) and she still has family in LA. Frankly, Alicia, I wish you were my sister or relative cuz you are so kindhearted and just soooooo uurrgh -- YOU! HA! OK. Much care to you n yours. Warmly, E

So AMAZING! Well we probably are related. I imagine that the pool of people of Jewish descent from the Slavic areas isn't that. big...soul family trumps biolo anyway, in my opinion. I consider my biologics for convenience of soul purpose ;) My heart goes out to you for the abandonment stuff ; that is ROUGH. Of course it had to do with him and not with you, but tell that to the unconscious, right? I have no contact with my family either - my parents each carried/carry such distinctive wounds in a conflagration style that was incredibly harmful, even though they were very well intentioned. I bless them, forgive them, and would welcome them back into my arms if they could truly change, or if I felt the nudge from spirit, but so far I haven't and I think they won't this life time. Bless you and your friend/my probably relative for shining on the East Coast! I found that to be a rough area for me energetically! I know some really people are there now. Do you read Madhava Setty's substack? Also Peter d'errico whom you've probably seen me quote. Kaia Ra used to live in the Back Bay too!
