Thank you! A super special thing is that the particular phrase "being grace," were the only words in the whole post that I thought nothing about and simply wanted to be written in that moment, in that space. The essence! You instantly honed in on that which was not of me but through me. Which kind of reminds me of Khalil Gibran. What a blessing! Bless you, too <3
There is so much I resonate with in this piece — and some pieces I learned towards becoming peace:::
1 – 💗 as a non-American I've always been wondering what all the fuss around »Thanksgiving« is about. I must admit, I wasn't aware of the connection between Thanksgiving and genocide. So I immediately read some articles and updated myself on that! 🙏
2 – 💞 as a life-long spiritual seeker, and seasoned intronaut (inner journey traveller), I totally resonate with "how we are in a time in between….where we are still in some ways processing a lot of intensity - perhaps grief or other intense emotions we didn’t know we had, yet also filled with the visions of a lighter, more uplifting future to come." and I instantly feel uplifted by this message coming to me from a new direction. 🙏
3 – 💞 having just edited the post for my substack to be published today – which has an element of remembering our curiosity and childlike enthusiasm, I marvel at the synchrony between writers on different parts of the world – "discernment that refuses cynicism and opts instead for the childlike joy, wonder and curiosity."
"One of my favorite pasttimes is hop on and off the side walk, sometimes through in a little twirl or spin-jump." 🙏
4 – 💞 "Shit makes good fertilizer." – as in the garden so in the inner soil of our Consciousness. 🙏
5 – 💞 "I am a lover of truth/Truth so I never really aligned with “It’s better to be happy than to be right.” My mother also said my first words were negotiating and I would make a good lawyer." – Same here! I can't stand fakery and untruth. When entangled in a legal shitsteaming nonsense many years ago, my lawyer said to me I would make a good lawyer. 🙏
6 – 💞 "It is more important to be love than to be “right,” – YES! Which includes learning to love and practice kindness and compassion and forgiveness towards ourselves, because this is the only way to 'become love' – a human love-hub radiating into humankind. 🙏
Thank you, Alicia, for sharing such intimate personal writing, which help us connect with each other and ourselves❣️
And now it my turn for my heart to leap for joy at the synchronicities, the connection, the beauty-way synchronocities as we co-create together, across time and space! THANK YOU <3
It's so fascinating to me what we take for granted because we are so used to it but it actually is just a local (albeit weird) normal like Thanksgiving being associated with genocide. I wonder what you take for granted that i don't know about! What do you think non-Europeans most often are unaware of that is interesting to you?
"I can't stand fakery and untruth." Same. It's very weird on this journey because everything is so inverted around the messaging for so many things. It's always (or for eons) been that way - Thanksgiving being or Columbus day being obvious examples (As an American raised liberal and liberal until I no longer identified with any current political party) - but I see it in so many areas where goodness is associated with something really awful and that which is truth is wins the Miss Information contest, and is promptly removed from the podium of free expression or psyopsed as an attempt to silence dissent. I'm guessing the political part I wrote you already knew about...which is interesting...no one here knows it, for the most part. They know he played President on TV but they don't know the funder was the same for him and the Az Nazi Bat. Or how seroiusly Nazi Az Bat is. I have a very sweet neighbor who passionately flies the colors of the sun and the sky. I even told him about this a long time ago...and asked why we don't seem to care about Tibet or Syria or Palestine or Africa (unless we can exploit Africa, then we care for a second.) I love how Kabir sought unity but didn't shy away from critique - critique is helpful only in so much as it removes the dross so we can see clearly, and then act with courageous love.

I absolutely adore the fact that you can talk with nuance and put things in brackets to show your dual thinking, just like me! I love that about you. So engaging to read!
Just as I lumped Europe together because I know Veronika has spent time living in more than one European countries, I lumped Africa together because although I know the west only exploits Africa and siddles up if it can gain, but otherwise, tends to oscillate between being patronizing and genocidal, yet Africa is SO many countries and cultures and I am for the most part, ignorant. How do we navigate these questions with grace? I think its by talking about them like we are here, with trust...sensing that good hearts of those around us, and open to new ways of looking at things <3 xo brother! Thanks for being you!!! I love your open hearted embrace the adventure of life! <3
"What do you think non-Europeans most often are unaware of that is interesting to you?"
Well, this question itself is quite 'non-European'. Unlike America, Europe is a continent of very diverse cultures, nations, people, and languages. Of course, there is also 'multicultural diversity' in America, similar to London, Paris, Berlin. But that's not the same as having national borders around the 'homelands' of different people.
Different Europeans are often unaware of cultural differences in other European countries (until they visit or live there). As a German living in Britain, I always found it strange that the British referred to the mainland as 'Europe'. (that was long before BREXIT!) To me, England was always part of Europe.
Now, as an 'expat British national' (officially) living in Portugal, I'm still often unaware of many Portuguese national holidays (and have to remind myself of their historic meanings). In other words, it's complex.
It's so funny because Vipul just commented on the joy of nuance, and I knew when I wrote that all the implied stuff that you observed AND I chose it because you have diverse European experiences, so I felt it inadequate to ask, "What do people take for granted in Portugal that I may not know about?" Etc Britain or Germany. In the spirit of learning and love, how can I do better?
Awww, I am in awe. THANK YOU. Humbled once feeling bad, forgiving myself. Humbled again, feeling awed and blessed by how you see me as an inspiration! WOW. <3
I am so sorry you had to go through a legal mess, but I am happy it sounds like you are free of it. May our lawyerly proclivities parse truth and our intronaut hearts pierce all the way into Truth! <3 <3 <3
That was just one of my big 'life lessons' I suppose – I had to learn not to be overly friendly and amenable to the wrong kinds of people (and get exploited and/or attacked as a result) – happy to confirm that I didn't go to jail and won the court case 😎👌 + an infinitely priceless heap of shit to fertilise my inner soil – which has made a significant contribution to catalysing and fuelling my work 🙌
That sounds so tough and heartbreaking to feel you had to pull back on being friendly an open to certain people...to keep our hearts open WITH discernment...
Being Grace. Bless you 🙏❤️

^I should amend - I forgot about my brief single issue conservative stage when I tried to be an evangelical. It was short lived.
