Spring

A Poem

I heard an owl hoot softly

A song bird flew inches from my head

Wing beats beckoning my wonder

Magnolia peeked a tiny bit of skin out from her fuzzy winter bathrobe

And the sun lit up the sky

Pure light

Prismatic strobe

Grateful I am for yogurt

Chocolate

For friends around the globe

For the love that finds us each

And tickles our earlobe

With love songs

From the Source

Her winged bodies

Course

With the ecstasy of flight

Bliss

Seeds

Pecked

Eggs Specked

And the tiniest oregano leaves

Sprout amid last year’s dead leaves composting
