Fruity Coffee and Christmas Tree Decorating
Stories from the Homefront about Capomo, Slow Living and Guys Who Are Good
We are slowly decorating the tree with ornaments we bought from SERRV (fairtrade) to replace the ones lost years ago in a move. This morning I took time to slowly sip capomo - which is not herbal coffee, it’s made from a drupe known as the Maya Nut. Like how cashews legumes, Maya Nuts are actually fruits. So my Capomo is actually a fruit-based coffee. Capoma is my favorite coffee alternative - it tastes and feels as good or better than coffee to me and it’s as good in the morning as the evening.
Maya nuts are nutrient-dense and are 100-percent free of gluten, dairy, pesticides, nuts, and common allergens. They are also completely caffeine-free and high in potassium, fiber, calcium, iron, antioxidants, zinc, protein, and vitamins A, B, C, and E. Toasted and ground into powder, they can be used in baked goods as a flour replacement; or simmered into a hot, ready-to-eat breakfast cereal; or they can be mixed, blended, or steeped to create a drink with a wonderfully nutty, mocha-like flavor similar to coffee.
While my son fed his cat and worked on a song he is composing upstairs, I danced my heart out to Mannheim Steamroller - which I also loved as a child. Later, my son and made some music together, and then we sat on the floor near the tree and pet the dog, who barked at us every time we stopped.
I took a walk…just a little dancing. And exchanged a wonderful smile with two very ordinary looking women. I also asked a man in a truck to please not park in front of my house…I was hesitant to do it, but he immediately was receptive, and in fact, as I explained that my husband would be coming home for lunch hand likes to park there (I didn’t mention that I am sensitive to having the energy of other people’s vehicles in my space) he immediately was happy to move it and I put my hands on my heart in gratitude. There was a lovely exchange. I think he got the good energy I sent his way. Later, when hubby pulled up, I learned once he was inside that the fellow and he had smiled and waved to each other and shared good vibes too! How wonderful!

Such a sweet update and I so relate to hesitating to ask someone to do something and to being sensitive when it comes to your space. I am glad it worked out so well!
