A Christian sacrificed his life to stand against the nazis
Deitrich Bonhoeffer stood against the nazi doctrine that so many churches became complacent with in Germany. He was involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler and honored his conscience in leaving the complicit church as well as serving actively to combat the nazi regime and was executed just before the end of the war.
“We must learn to regard people less in the light of what they do or omit to do, and more in the light of what they suffer.”
― Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison
A Sufi serves as a spy and is tortured and executed to stand against the nazis
Noor A Nisa Inayat Khan was a Sufi princess who, in spite of her sensitive nature and proclivity for fairies, childrens stories and the lyre, served as a spy in France, facilitating communication for allies. Although she was raised to believe in non-violence, she felt called to take an active role in ending the nazi regime. She gave her life for it. After torture, before her execution, her last words were “Liberte.”
An Israeli -American radio host stands up for the Palestinians
Esty Dinur has a radio podcast on WORT wortfm.org where she interviews Palestinians in Gaza and she has given speeches as part of a group of Jewish people standing for peace.
An evangelical hides Jews in her home and survives a concentration camp
Corrie Ten Boom was a woman of deep faith in God who hid Jews in her home and was arrested and sent to a concentration camp, which she survived. She continued to seek to align to God’s will after her release and to do what her Higher Guidance led her to do even if it was challenging or scary for her.
A Jew stands up against the fascism that has been at the heart of much that has gone on before and after the creation of Israel in the name of Zionism
Albert Einstein was asked by Ben Gurion to become the first President of Israel. Einstein declined. He was deeply critical of the fascist direction he saw Israel taking. The quote below, from his letter published in 1948 interestingly parallels the actions of Hamas:
“A shocking example was their behavior in the Arab village of Deir Yassin. This village, off the main roads and surrounded by Jewish lands, had taken no part in the war, and had even fought off Arab bands who wanted to use the village as their base. On April 9 (THE NEW YORK TIMES), terrorist bands attacked this peaceful village, which was not a military objective in the fighting, killed most of its inhabitants "240 men, women, and children" and kept a few of them alive to parade as captives through the streets of Jerusalem.”

Is it possible for Nazis to exist within the Jewish State? It is as possible as it is that women such as Ghislane M are complicit in child trafficking, often for blackmail purposes. When I look at how Israel “went first” with certain biomedical initiatives, I think, “God, it’s happening again.” But why don’t we ban Pfizer from substack? Is it a conspiracy theory to believe pharma often is influenced if not outright led by Nazis? If we are aware of project paper clip, it is a matter of history, not conjecture.
And what of people who point out that many elite Jews have been involved in nefarious things? It is only evil that wants to scapegoat the Jews in particular. We could look at the Royal Saudi family. We could look at the Anglo influences in China and around the world related to the opioid trade and its interlinking with crime and power lines. We could look at Russian oligarchs or Ukranian Nationalists. It’s all the same shit.
And inside all of us, whatever we carry from our forebearers in the way of ancestry, is something holy and sacred that invites us to say YES to life and to one another’s sacredness, even when we are from different places, cultures, traditions and other identity groupings imposed from the outside.
It’s always struck me as odd when people say they feel more comfortable with people who look like them. I’m like, “God, that’s odd. I imagine standing next to a short woman with dark hair and relatively pale skin, and I’m like, ‘Hey there, you look like me. Wanna besties?’” And it’s, like so fucked. I relate to people’s inner, which includes the resonance of their culture and the way they were it (I usually am drawn to people of other cultures, actually more than my own, all truth be told,” and I have had many conversations with my family about how silly it is base a friendship upon appearance. I want to relate to the inner being of another, which its textures and unique soul presence. How about you?
Love!

My heart is heavy reading and thinking about the brave humans who stood against Nazis ~ and were brutally killed. Bonhoeffer was one of my father's heroes. This feels very close to home. For a while it looked like the N-monster had been defeated ~ that it would ever be resurrected again was unthinkable. And now...?
